Sex education is so much more than it's title signifies, this show is about how sex affects the lives of teenagers and moreover, it's a story about friendship which really makes us latch onto it.

The show in some way is funny, light and at the same time, very responsible. It registers in our mind that being a teenager is fun but it's also where we are at our very peak of lives.

In terms of the plot, the writers have often incorporated each episode starting with a humorous scene but also dealing with real-life issues in each episode like anxiety, drug abuse, bullying, abortion, and of course the chlamydia outbreak - it felt a bit unrealistic. And also how can I forget, the Romeo Juliet play went a little too overboard.

I think the show is ahead of its time in some ways like a single mother is REALLY comfortable in talking to her son about sex. The main characters are Otis, Maeve, and Eric, the story revolves around these characters. The series represents people of many sexualities. The leads are shown as normal teen kids with real-life problems. Otis himself have major sex issues, this gives a much needed realistic touch to the story.

Season 1 was a bit boring and the episodes felt too long but it improved very much in season 2. The second season's ending was much predictable but it was very realistic as any normal person going through that situation may do that. And I myself really loved the obstinate irony that Otis (even so a teen) who's still a virgin knows more about sex and sexual problems than almost everyone in the show including adults.

I feel like almost ALL teenagers will enjoy and really relate to the show and even grown-ups (once teenagers) will appreciate it.
