SYNOPSIS

East Tokyo Joined together (ETU) has been battling in Japan's top soccer association for as far back as scarcely any years. It has taken all that they have simply to keep away from the assignment. To exacerbate the situation, the group has lost five matches straight, prompting appalling camaraderie. Indeed, even the fans are starting to forsake them, and bits of gossip clue that the home ground district will pull back their help. With innumerable mentors terminated and poor monetary decisions in recruiting players, it is a descending winding for ETU. The directorate, under tension from senior supervisor Kousei Gotou, faces a challenge and recruits another mentor—the somewhat unusual Takeshi Tatsumi. Despite the fact that considered an extraordinary soccer player when he was more youthful, Tatsumi relinquished ETU years prior. Nonetheless, from that point forward, he has substantiated himself fruitful as the supervisor of one of Britain's lower-division novice groups. Tatsumi's undertaking won't be simple; ETU fans consider him a double-crosser, and the group is set in opposition to others with bigger spending plans and better players. However even the longshot can bring down a goliath, and Tatsumi claims he is a specialist at giant-killing.

THOUGHTS

Giant Killing was very different compared to the other sports anime I've seen. Instead of focusing on some highschool team, we're focused on a college team full of adults. The characters are very entertaining and fun and even go through some solid development. The real important, and best character is Tatsumi. He's insightful, smart and determined, yet also lazy and at times immature. For some reason, we don't really see what life is like for most of the players. I guess they just wanted to focus on the sport and have interesting characters drive it, which I'm not complaining about, but I feel like it would make the characters even better. I also like the relationship with the team and its fans. Some people are obsessed, get angry if things don't go THEIR way, have completely given up on the team when the loss, etcetera; it feels realistic. Aside from wanting to know more about the characters, I'd say my other problem would be the animation. Not that the actual animation itself is bad, but character designs look bland. This show also does a lot of line shading and it looks very distracting, and at times very ugly. There's even 3D animation when you're seeing a full view of the game, and it looks very jarring. Even so, the animation isn't bad overall.
